Halloween is right around the corner, and spooky season is already in full effect throughout Tempe. Whether you’re looking for additional events to show off your costume or more opportunities for trick-or-treating, we have you covered.
October in Tempe is filled with festivities that invite you to level-up your Halloween season. Check out these activities for kids, gatherings for grown-ups and seasonal celebrations for the entire family.
Through Oct. 31: Four Peaks Haunted Brewery Tours

Four Peaks Brewery invites you to experience Nightmare on 8th St. Haunted Brewery Tours, which take place Sunday through Wednesday every week from Sept. 15 to Oct. 31. As seen on “Ghost Adventures,” the old brick building that houses the brewery has quite a past — and strange things have been happening inside it. Four Peaks has gathered all these spooky tales (as well as their own employees’ ghost stories) for a series of special, late-night tours through 8th Street. Join them for one, if you dare.

Head to LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Arizona throughout October for Monster-ific fun and a LEGO® Monster Party. Enjoy a brand new 4D Halloween movie, a take-home Brick-Or-Treat build, a build-your-own pumpkin patch and a spider scavenger hunt in the Miniland. New this year: Brew up fun at the Potion Kitchen, a place to create potions of all sorts by combining your building creativity.
Oct. 4-25: Spooky Cinema at Skysill Rooftop Lounge

The Westin Tempe invites you to Spooky Cinema, beginning at 7 p.m. every Friday at Skysill Rooftop Lounge. Complimentary popcorn will be provided, and bar service will be available with eerily tasting treats and cocktails. All ages are welcome with free admission. Movie schedule:

Dress up in your Halloween costume and hit The District at Tempe Marketplace from Sweet Street Spooktacular. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., trick-or-treaters are invited to stroll from shop to shop, enjoy enchanting melodies, boo-tiful costume contests and frighteningly fun prizes.

Taking place in conjunction with Movies in the Park, Tempe’s annual Boo Bash Family Fall Festival will include a special Halloween screening of “Hotel Transylvania” (PG) as well as train rides, face painting, a dance party, costume contest, parade, concessions and carnival games from 6 to 10 p.m. Movies in the Park begin at dusk, approximately 6 p.m., on the north soccer field (Baseline Road and Ash Avenue).

Join the Desert Botanical Garden at Strange Garden on Oct. 25 & 26, for a night full of frights for the entire family. Experience jaw-dropping performances and encounter mad botanists, peculiar plants and creepy crawlies of the desert. Stop for a photo-op and take home a free pumpkin from their patch!
Oct. 27: Halloween Stroll
Ragsdale-MLK Park (formerly 6th Street Park)
Ghosts, goblins, and princesses of all ages are invited to Ragsdale-MLK Park in Downtown Tempe from 2 to 5 p.m. for some not-so-spooky Halloween fun at the Halloween Stroll. Trick-or-treat with downtown businesses and participate in Halloween-themed games, crafts, activities and a costume contest. Don’t forget your trick-or-treat bag! Halloween Stroll is a free-admission event.

Some of the old buildings are still used by businesses, and a few purportedly have permanent residents who, though long dead, make an occasional ghostly appearance.
