The Juneteenth Block Party in Downtown Tempe welcomes all ages to join in the celebration under the banner of Freedom of Expression, commemorating the strides made in the ongoing quest for racial equality and justice.
This event will create a space where people of all races can come together to share in and witness joy. Come and experience live music from emcee Teri Tobin, spoken word by Urban Poet and DJ sets from DJ Panic and DJ AKSHEN. Enjoy personalized haikus crafted by Ars Poetica, indulge in delicious BBQ from Kingpin and soul food from 28 Still Cooking, and cool off with nostalgic treats from Flav-Oh’s ice cream truck.
Don’t miss the first-ever Hip-Hop Barber Battle, a retro roller rink with Zoni Girls, and double dutch fun with the 40plus Double Dutch Club. Relax in the RichKat Mobile Cigar Lounge, play Spades or Dominos and explore inspiring books with Tempe Public Library.
This family-friendly event has something for everyone, including games, a free photo booth, and more. Join the celebration!
